About Our Company

The Baliapatam Tiles and Business Ventures trace its roots to a small tile factory established by Mr Choorakkadan Aaron in 1917 on the banks of the Valapattanam Puzha. Choorakkadan Aaron was a successful entrepreneur in modern handloom for which Kannur was the hub. C. Aaron hoped to pioneer the tile industry in Malabar. He selected the large tract of land extending from the river bank to the interior of Pappinisseri village. He started the tile factory in 1917 with a capital of Rs10,000 of which one-fourths was his contribution and the remaining came from three individuals, C. Chirakandan, Chandroth Raman Nambiar, and Mallisseri Kuberan Nambudiri. Thanks to a blend of professionalism and the long vision of the founders, the factory started to score dramatically to become a leader in the field. In 1947 the tile factory was re- capitalized by issuing shares. Members from the business communities in and around Pappinisseri and Kannur invested in this venture by buying shares of this company. This heritage company has completed a century of existence and looks forward to extend its services in various new areas in business to serve society better.
